Hey guys

I have a tenant who's not responding to my phone calls; this hasn't happened before so I think it's due to his phone being lost or something.

The problem is that I want to go in and inspect the fire safety and take a look to see if the place is still standing.

Would I be legally able to go in despite no response from my phone calls?

In Ontario you can provide written notice (with at minimum 24 hours in advance) notice of a maintenance inspection.

The notice should be in writing, posted at the residence.

If you have a good relationship with the tenant, email notice could suffice...

no, unless an emergency (flooding, fire, smoke, ..)

You have to post a written notice with 24 hour notice, usually at the door.
