Subject to - or as Ron Legrand calls it - Getting the Deed

Hey folks,
I`ve just ordered, recieved, and gone over one of Ron Legrands books. He speaks about options, and subject to deals. Are subject to deals common here in Canada? Does anyone have a story or deal that they can tell regarding subject to deals?

it rarely works here without bank approval .. but there are work arounds / similar strategies as described here:

Yes, thanks Thomas, I`ll take that into consideration. I have since spoken to a number of people who assure me that buying a property subject to existing financing is quite possible here in Canada. I`m sure I can find more information on the subject - no need to bother you with it.
