Are You Under `Resolution` Pressure?

[quote user=NeilUttamsingh]Margaret and or Russell,

Are these '7 Life Categories' discussed in Les' book, 'The Power of Focus'?

Best Regards,

Neil.

Part of the process came from the Power of Focus, and many others have come from being a student of success, I want to learn what makes people succeed and how can I implement that into my life

Neil and REIN` members I'll try to quickly give you a rundown of my morning ritual for to set my day up for success.

I use a Hilroy 5 subject 300 page notebook (I go through one of these every 3-4 months), this is also where I journal, and write down all my ideas. A side note, its kinda cool to go back over the years and track the progress. This book is with me usually every day... you never know when you are going to have a great idea, I have to write it down or I'll forget it

On one side of a page I write the day (January 7, 2010), and Day 7 of 365. I keep a running total of how many day remaining in the year.

After that I write out my 2011 Summit (a term I learned from Philip McKernan) to identify my number one top intention for the year, after that I write out my intention for the day... for example today's intention is to "Do something uncomfortable today, and push through a task that I have been procrastinating on"

After that I list my top goals in the 7 areas of my life, these areas are:

1) Health

2) Financial

3) Business

4) Relationships

5) Personal

6) Contribution

After that I write out what my 4 life priorities:

1) Health, Happiness and Enjoyment of Life

2) Family and Relationships,

3) Contribution and Growth

4) Abundance and Gratitude.

On the back part of the page I write out a list of items that "I am willing and choose to do today to get closer to my goals" typically there are 6-7 items on that list (with a little check box beside them to check off on completion)

After that I write a list of 5-6 things I am grateful for

Then finally I have a spot to record my 5 success for the day (some days this can be a stretch... but come up with 5).

I hand write this daily... I find it
better for me if I write this out daily (instead of having a computer
printout)... Each day you are making a commitment to your goals, and to yourself.

This does seem like a bit of work, but once you get it down, it less than a 5 minute investment to set your day up to be a success.

Tough to describe the process in written form, if any REIN` member would like to see how I set this up (trust me its not pretty... its handwritten and messy) just ask me at one of the upcoming meetings, and I'll be happy to give you the $.02 tour.

Bottom line whatever your ritual is, its all about the results you create. Take time today to give some thoughts how you will set up your day to win.

Sorry if this was a bit rambly... hope you got some value from it

That's amazing Russell, totally not what I was expecting as a morning ritual - on the surface, it DOES seem like a lot of work as I too am schooled through the Power of Focus. However, I need to implement more of the strategies to get to your level.

I too have a notebook system ( I have two) but do not carry with me. My notepad on my BB is good enough for me as an idea but you are correct in saying it means more when you scribble it down.

The first notepad is on my nightstand because for some reason my mind wakes up around 4am and until 8am, I 'dream' a lot of ideas. Maybe because I go to bed thinking of the day and how the next one is going to pan out. If one of these ideas actually wake me up, I write it down. This even goes for blog ideas because I forget 'memory dump' very easily.

The second is in my vehicle as many ideas flow when I'm driving an hour to get to my geographical areas. Those are my two most creative times.

Thank you for taking the time to write out your start of day, I'm printing it to have a carbon copy to implement
