I own a 4-plex with brick exterior. There are two entrance doors to the building and they currently don`t lock. I am going to install locks, so the building is safer for the tenants. This will create two issues:
1) If I install a Queens key for the entrance this will cost over $1,000. I have decided to place mail boxes outside on the wall but the lowest price I can find is $500 for 4 locking mail boxes. How can I install mailboxes outside the building for less than $300? (Any good names of suppliers is welcome)
2) What to do when the tenant have visitors? I have been advised, the cheapest way to do it is to install a batter-operated wireless door bell, and then all 4 units will hear the bell at the same time. The option of wiring bells for each suite is also very costly. Any other suggestions that does not require opening up the drywall?
